What it does

Built for people who actually own a lot of books.

Six features that turn a shelf-full into a system. No subscriptions, no nonsense.

Scan & Instant Summary

Point your phone at the barcode. Booklgy pulls in title, author, and cover instantly — then one tap brings up a short summary, so you can decide whether to add it (or buy it) on the spot.

Household Sharing

Invite your partner, roommate, or whole family. Everyone shares the same library, kept in sync across every device.

Perfect for Gift-Giving

Standing in the bookstore picking something out for a friend or family member? Pull up their household library in seconds. Never gift a book they already own.

Manual Lookup for Older Books

No barcode? No problem. Search by ISBN, Library of Congress number, or just by author and title — perfect for vintage, secondhand, and pre-1970 books that never had a barcode in the first place.

Smart Search & Filter

Sort A–Z by author or title; filter by genre, owner, or read status. Mark favorites with a tap and find what's still on the to-read pile.

Your Data, Yours

Export your full library to CSV. Back up the database. Take it with you whenever you want — no lock-in.

How it works

Three steps. That's it.

Get your whole shelf in your pocket in an afternoon.

i

Scan your shelf

Open the camera, aim at each book's barcode, and Booklgy does the rest. About 10 seconds per book once you find a rhythm.

ii

Invite your household

Generate an invite code in Settings. Anyone who joins sees the same library and can add their own books to it.

iii

Never re-buy (or re-gift) again

At the bookstore — whether you're shopping for yourself or for someone in your household — search by author, title, ISBN, or LOC number. The little gold dot tells you what's already on the shelf.

"It started as a way to stop buying The Handmaid's Tale a third time."

Booklgy is built for households that actually live with their books — couples merging libraries, families with overlapping taste, anyone whose to-read pile has gotten away from them. And it's just as handy when you're shopping for someone else: pull up their library before you check out, and gift with confidence.

A peek inside

Designed for readers, not collectors.

Every screen is built around the moment that actually matters: standing in a bookstore wondering if you already own this one.

Questions

Everything you'd want to ask.

Is Booklgy free?

Yes — the core app is free on the App Store. We may add an optional pro tier later for power features, but household sharing, scanning, and unlimited books will always be free.

How does household sharing work?

One person creates the household and generates an invite code. Anyone with the code joins the same shared library — books, owners, and read status all sync between devices.

What if a book isn't found by barcode?

Booklgy gives you three manual lookup options for any book that doesn't scan: type the ISBN by hand, enter a Library of Congress catalog number, or just search by author name and title. Ideal for older editions, secondhand finds, and any book published before barcodes became standard (roughly pre-1970).

Can I use Booklgy when shopping for someone else?

Yes — it's one of the best reasons to use it. Invite the person you shop for to your household so they can add the books they already own. Next time you're at the bookstore picking out a gift, filter the library by their name and you'll see at a glance what's already on their shelf.

Can I export my library?

Yes. Settings → Data → Export CSV gives you a clean spreadsheet. You can also back up the entire database. Your books, your data, no lock-in.

Is there an Android version?

Not yet. iPhone first — Android is on the roadmap. Drop your email below and we'll let you know when it's ready.

Does it work offline?

Browsing and editing your library work fully offline, and any changes sync to your household when you're back online. Scanning a new book uses online lookups for title, author, and cover — if you're offline, Booklgy still saves the ISBN and fills in the metadata as soon as you reconnect.
