Common questions
How do I sign in?
Open the app and enter your email address. Booklgy will email you a one-time sign-in code (a "magic link" OTP). Enter the code in the app — no password to remember.
How does household sharing work?
One person creates a household and generates a 6-digit invite code from Settings → Generate Invite Code. The invite is valid for 24 hours. Anyone who enters that code joins the same shared library — books, owners, and read status sync across every device in the household.
A book wouldn't scan. What now?
Tap Add Book Manually on the Scan screen. You can look up a book three ways:
- ISBN — type the 10- or 13-digit number from the back of the book.
- Library of Congress (LCCN) — for older books that pre-date barcodes. The number is usually inside the front cover.
- Title & Author — search by name and pick from the results.
If nothing returns a match, you can still save the book with whatever details you have — Booklgy will try to enrich the metadata automatically the next time it syncs.
Does Booklgy work offline?
Browsing and editing your library work fully offline. Changes sync to your household when you're back online. Scanning a brand-new book uses an online catalog lookup for title, author, and cover — if you're offline at scan time, Booklgy still saves the ISBN and fills in the rest as soon as you reconnect.
How do I export or back up my library?
- CSV export: Settings → Export Library as CSV. Opens the iOS share sheet so you can email it, save to Files, etc.
- Full database backup: Settings → Backup Database. Shares the raw SQLite file — useful if you ever want to move your data elsewhere.
How do I sign out or delete my account?
Both controls live in the Settings tab, in the Account section at the bottom of the page:
- Sign Out — disconnects this device from your account. Your household data stays on the server and on any other device you've signed into.
- Delete Account — permanently removes your account and your membership in any household. If you are the last member of a household, every book and owner in that household is deleted with you. This cannot be undone.
I lost access to my email — how do I recover my account?
Since sign-in is by one-time code to your email address, Booklgy can't restore access if you no longer control the inbox you signed up with. Email support@geifon.com from your replacement address and tell us the original sign-in email — we'll verify what we can and walk you through the next step.
Is there an Android version?
Not yet. iPhone first; Android is on the roadmap. Email us if you want to be notified.
How do I report a bug or request a feature?
Email support@geifon.com with as much detail as you can — what you were doing, what you expected, what happened. Screenshots are great. If you can include your iOS version and the Booklgy build number (visible if you long-press the version label on the Settings screen), it speeds things up.
Still stuck?
If your question isn't above, email support@geifon.com and we'll get back to you within 1–2 business days. For privacy or data deletion questions, the Privacy Policy is the authoritative reference.
